HMCS FUDDLE
The FUDDLE was the sister ship of the DUDDLE. Both small and nimble in design, they were often used in tandem, bouncing a sonar signal between the two ships to detect submarines over a vast area. The phrase “bring in the fuddle duddle” was often mistaken for casual slang or a dessert rather than a military maneuver.
The FUDDLE disappeared while crossing the Bermuda Triangle in 1963.
